Make a Call

A call is a virtual conversation between you and a prospect. The purpose of a call is to practice your selling skills with that prospect. To initiate a call, simply click on the Call [Prospect Name] button on any prospect card. This will bring up the call interface.

Call Prospect

The call interface is meant to resemble common video conferencing interfaces and has the following buttons:

  • Start Call: Start the sales call with the prospect. Once connected, this button will change to Leave Call.
  • Audio: Turn off your microphone so that the prospect cannot hear you. Press the button again to unmute yourself.
  • Video: Turn on your camera so that you can see video of yourself during the call for greater realism. Press the button again to turn your video off. Note: no video data from your camera is sent off your device or otherwise stored or analyzed by SalesMagic.
  • x: The button in the top-right of the connection dialog can be used to close the dialog without starting a call.

On larger screens, the right-hand side of the call interface displays information about the prospect that you're calling. This will remain visible during your call in case you need to refer to it. This information display is hidden on smaller screens or mobile devices.

When a call is started, the prospect will begin the conversation by introducing themselves. You can then jump in to make your pitch. Speaking indicators are shown to the right of each participant's name so you can easily tell who is talking.

Every call is saved to your account and can be reviewed later on the My Calls page. You can also view various statistics and analyses for an individual call on the Call Details page. For certain pricing plans, you can chose to record audio for all calls and review the audio transcript after the call.
